It’s a sad truth in Hollywood that looks can be everything. Although a person’s ability to age gracefully has nothing to do with his or her talent in front of the camera, many in show business apparently feel the pressure to maintain a certain level of attractiveness. In order to do that, many turn to plastic surgery for help.

Below are the top six celebrity plastic surgery transformations of 2014.

1. Renée Zellweger

Although the “Bridget Jones’s Diary” actress denies having any work done, she kicked up the conversation about plastic surgery more than any other star this year when she walked the red carpet at Elle Magazine’s Women in Hollywood party in October. Fans and media outlets immediately noticed that the actress’ face looked significantly different than it had in years past.

“I’m glad folks thing I look different!” the 45-year-old actress told People Magazine of the plastic surgery rumors. “I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.”

2. Bruce Jenner

Jenner’s appearance is an ever-changing entity. However, following his split from “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kris Jenner, rumors began to circulate that the former Olympian was actively trying to transition into a woman. Although he’s denied those rumors, in recent months the 65-year-old reality star has apparently gotten hair extensions, went out in public with manicured nails, and allegedly even had his Adam’s apple shaved down.

3. Valeria Lukyanova (Human Barbie)

Although she first made headlines in 2012, the woman who set out to look like a living version of Barbie captivated the public again this year when GQ traveled to her home country of Ukraine for an interview. In it, the 29-year-old model described her daily regimen, why she chooses to live her life the way she does and much more. Although she denies using anything but makeup to achieve her look, Lukyanova has admitted to getting breast implants in the past. Still, when it comes to artificial beauty, she’s hard to beat.

4. Mary-Kate Olsen

The actress looked surprisingly not like her twin sister Ashley Olsen when the two appeared at the 2014 World of Children Awards in November. This sparked media outlets such as TMZ to wonder whether the Olsen twin had a bit of facial work done. While her appearance is strikingly different to that of her sister, especially as the two used to make a living co-playing the same person on "Full House," Entertainment Tonight notes that there is reasonable doubt. It’s possible her new look isn’t anything more than a bad camera angle. Fans will just have to decide for themselves.

5. Jordan James Parke

It’s one thing to get a little work done to give yourself that celebrity look; it’s another thing to get a lot of work done to get a very specific celebrity look. But that’s the route a U.K. man took, spending almost $150,000 to look like reality star Kim Kardashian in 2014.

"I love everything about Kim," 23-year-old Parke told The Sun. "She's the most gorgeous woman ever. Her skin is perfect, her hair, everything about her."

While his look turns some heads on the street, Parke says that his haters don’t bother him since he’s clearly not trying to go for a natural look anyway. According to People Magazine, Parke has undergone Botox injections, lip-plumping procedures, laser hair removal and eyebrow tattoos.

6. Jasmine Tridevil (Alisha Hessler)

This is a particularly strange one. Earlier this year, a woman named Jasmine Tridevil made headlines when she claimed to have undergone plastic surgery to give herself a third breast. She even posted a few photos to social media that allegedly showed the final results. Although this counts as a plastic surgery story, it’s worth mentioning that the entire thing was more than likely a hoax.
