She is one of the most stunning actresses in Hollywood with a sense of style to match.

But even Zoe Saldana can have an off day.

The Avatar actress arrived at a Guardians Of The Galaxy promo event on Thursday looking decidedly frumpy in a floral mustard colour midi-dress.

The long sleeved number looked like it would suit a star a little older than the 36-year-old actress.

Zoe teamed her outfit with loosely curled hair, subtle make-up and black strappy sandals for her appearance at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore.

The actress stars as Gamora - the green skinned alien with superhuman abilities - in the film which features Chris Pratt in the main role of Peter Quill/Star Lord.

Zoe was joined at the event by the film's director James Gunn and co-star Dave Bautista who plays super strong Drax The Destroyer.

Zoe recently revealed how she and the film's producer developed her look as the green-skinned Gamora.

'We had maybe seven or eight camera tests we had to do, when it came to all the characters and for mine specifically it was, "How alien do we want Gamora to be?" she told Moviefone in a recent interview.

'And what I was thinking was, "She just needs to be pretty." And that's usually a thing that I don't think about with other characters that I play but for some reason because I was going to be green and I was going to be the lead girl, I just wanted teenage boys to find me attractive,' she admitted.

Zoe is more than familiar to the world of sci-fi, having appeared in the Avatar and Star Trek films, but sees each movie as a very separate project.

'To me, it would be no different of a concern than Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightley need to have because they just do primarily period pieces,' she said. 'I feel like, just because I've done a film that is considered science fiction, then so be it.

'As an artist, I like working with filmmakers that have the balls to imagine the unimaginable. Those are kind of the radicals that I identify with.'
