The Best Dressed Of The 2014 Emmy Awards
publié le 27/08/2014 à 05:23 |
Even though last night’s 2014 Emmy Awards were fraught with controversy and man braids, we have to admit that there were some seriously stunning looks among the bunch. While your favorite dress was probably already panned by half of Twitter, that’s okay–we should recognize all the best dressed celebrities and their stylists for doing such incredible jobs.
Angela Bassett
Let’s start off with one of the best looks of the night. Angela picked a casual yet elegant Elisabetta Franchi look that combines white and gold to a stunning effect.
Hayden Panettiere

YES. Yes, yes, yes. This Lorna Sarbu gown is such a stunning look on Hayden, and the perfect response to anybody who thinks pregnant women should coverup.
Lucy Liu
Lucy. Liu. Looking perfect in Zac Posen. Forever and ever and ever.
Teyonah Parris
Not only is this Christian Siriano piece a totally unique look compared to everybody else on the red carpet last night, it also fits her beautifully and feels perfect for a late summer occasion.
Christina Hendricks
Some folks may not agree, but I think this Marchesa gown was a stunning look.
Allison Janney
Even though I had sort of hoped Allison might pop up in a fancy version of her Sons of Anarchy style, I am so down with this velvet Nicholas Jebran gown. It’s so rare that stars wear velvet and that perplexes me because it looks gorgeous when photographed.
Danielle Brooks
GUH, I love this white shade on Danielle, and the laser cut top of her custom Nathaniel Paul dress looks stunning. Silver accessories add to the princess feeling of this look.
Claire Danes
I’m so down with this Givenchy gown Claire picked for the Emmys.
Cat Deely
Oh my goodness, this ombre Burberry gown is positively divine on Cat. Ombre can go oh-so-wrong, but this dusty rose shade works its magic beautifully on her.
Kaley Cuoco
WOW I LOVE THIS. It mixes pink and red, which I don’t particularly love typically, but for some reason I’m just obsessed with this Monique Lhuillier look. Perhaps it’s her cute hair or how well it fits in the bodice, but no matter the reason, I think this perfect for Kaley.
Kate Walsh
Yes. Killing it. This is one of the best (and yet underused) red carpet colors to wear, period, and this Stephane Rolland dress is perfect.
I feel like this is probably just my opinion, but I loved this vintage John Hayles silk dress! Even if Katherine Heigl drives me a little nuts, I feel like everyone would love it had Cate Blanchett or Kerry Washington worn it.
Sarah Silverman
YES. We’ve been seeing her get increasingly incredible on the red carpet. This charcoal Marni dress is absolutely gorgeous, making her one of the funniest and best dressed humans at this whole thang.
Natalie Dormer
My favorite Game of Thrones character (or at least the one I would likely choose to be) wore a stunning J. Mendel orange and black color blocked gown–a rare combo of colors for the red carpet that can either look very Halloween or very incredible. Natalie landed on the latter option.
Uzo Aduba
From her hair to her custom Christian Siriano dress’s color to her makeup, Uzo killed it at the Emmy Awards. She’s quickly climbing the ranks of the “best dressed in Hollywood” list, and I don’t see her stopping anytime soon.
Kristen Schaal
Now if only she had worn bunny ears…
Anna Chlumsky
Gosh, this Zac Posen number is a pretty red carpet look. So simple, so clean.
Keke Palmer
As Olivia pointed out last night, the skirt is almost eerily standing up, but I can’t help loving this Rubin Singer dress regardless. It fits her figure so well (except the bottom, which would only fit a mermaid) and the color is unbelievable with her complexion. The accessories are appropriately minimal, so this look is a total win in my look.
Anna Gunn
I’m not even sure why I love this Jenny Packham look as much as I do, to be honest. It’s just really, really different than what everybody else was wearing and I love that. That particular shade of blue just isn’t one you see a lot of on red carpets, and I wish we could.
January Jones
January Jones has improved her red carpet style quite a bit over the past couple years, and this Prabal Gurung look proves that.
Michelle Monaghan
Another solid white dress to love! How gorgeous is this Giambattista Valli Couture look on Michelle? I love a smooth, long-sleeved dress on a red carpet.
