Self drilling anchor is a structural system transferring tension to stable stratum or soil layer. It consists of anchor head, free segment
and anchorage section, which can effectively control slide, collapse and destruction. In high-slope protective engineering of railway, self drilling anchor’s install position, inclination should be designed correctly to resist slope’s instability and destruction.
Adopting the method of self drilling anchor with sprayed concrete, drilling, grouting and anchoring function can combine together, safe,
high-efficient and easy to operate.
Specific to these characteristics, releasing pressure under high prestressed bolt supporting and improving the mechanical properties of roof strata in a large range by grouting using self drilling bolt are the keys. This technology can effectively control the development of plastic zone，enhance the strength of roof strata and improve the stress state of self drilling bolt.
Practice shows that the technology can reduce the damaged zones to 1 m and decrease the deformation of roadway roof，floor，and roadway’s sides by 63．6％，53．3％and 51．7％ respectively，which can also effectively control the deformation of surrounding rock in this roadway．
