  • How to block wifi network?
    publié le 26/11/2022 à 03:16

To block a wifi network, you must send a signal on the same frequency as the target but stronger than the original signal.

If it is legal where you live, then the easiest way to block a wifi network is to buy a wifi jammer and turn it on close enough to your router. However, in most areas, you will have to go through the more complicated legal methods described below. Otherwise, skip ahead to the following section to learn about legal ways to prevent your neighbors from using your network and reduce the impact of neighboring networks on your network.

Wifi jammers can interfere with emergency radio communications and other important communications. Even if it is legal in your country, it is best to avoid using wifi signal jammer in densely populated areas.

Determine which frequencies you want to jam
If your area prohibits the use of wifi jammer device, you will need to take a more targeted approach. Each wireless device sends a signal on one or more frequencies. To drown out this signal, you will have to act on the same signal. Find the name of the device you want to jam or use this frequency guide.

Wifi routers with 802.11b or 802.11g standards operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency. If you cannot identify the router, this is a safe option.

Wifi routers in the 802.11a standard operate at 5 GHz.

The 802.11n standard can operate on both 2.4 and 5 GHz. You may need to interfere with both frequencies. Some modern routers with this standard can automatically change frequencies, which makes them harder to interfere with.

If you don't know what type of router you are using, try downloading an application or software designed to see what wireless networks are nearby. Some programs will determine which frequencies and channels are in use, but the free versions usually do not.

Turn on devices at the same frequency
You can block 2.4 GHz wireless signals by operating a microwave oven, another cordless phone, a Bluetooth device, and many other wireless devices. Whenever 2.4 GHz is displayed, the device will interfere with nearby 2.4 GHz networks. The impact can range from a slight slowdown to a complete loss of signal, but unfortunately, there is no way to tell what it will be in advance.

The device must broadcast the signal. For example, play music on the phone or tape the digital buttons so they are always pressed.

To improve the interference capability of a 2.4 GHz cordless phone, place your hand in the circuit and connect the antenna cable to the wire taped to the CD. If the interference is illegal, it may be illegal.

    Modify your router
Modify your router to better control interference. If your wifi router operates on the same frequency, you can fine-tune its settings to cause intentional interference. Start by accessing your router's settings. Launch your Internet browser and enter your router's address in the URL address field. Try the following most common actions until you see the router's settings page.

    http://192.168.0.1
    http://192.168.1.1
    http://192.168.2.1
    http://192.168.11.1

If none of these work, look for the IP address of your router model on the network or try to find it in the wifi or network settings list on your computer or mobile device.

You may need to authenticate before you can access the settings. If you do not know the password, check the router's manual.

Select the transmission channel. The router does not use the entire possible band at the same time. The band is divided into 14 channels in the 2.4 GHz band and 23 channels in the 5 GHz band. Depending on the router you have, you may not be able to access all of these channels, or may not be able to modify this configuration. Do your best to use as many channels as you can. If you can only use one or two channels at a time, switch from one channel to another, and test that the signal on the adjacent network has reduced its power.

At 2.4 GHz, most routers operate on channels 1, 6, and 11. Use these channels to interfere with other networks.

Adjacent canals overlap and cause interference. By using channels 3, 7, and 11, you can slow down almost all wifi networks, at least a little. At 5 GHz, more channels can be used.
