Abbey Clancy reminisces about her style evolution as she rocks bra-flashing top for Cosmopolitan cover shoot

She was just crowned the Ultimate Style Icon at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards.

But Abbey Clancy revealed it took her time to find her red carpet style in a stunning cover shoot for the January issue of Cosmopolitan UK.

Speaking about how initial reaction upon breaking into the industry, Abbey admitted: ‘It was overwhelming in the beginning. I was only 18 and was having paparazzi following me.

She added: ‘I’d be standing next to Victoria Beckham in an H&M dress! Oh, my god, that was odd. But I think you grow up.

The 28-year-old has worked her way up the fashion industry since she came in as a runner-up on Britain’s Next Top Model.

But she admitted as she told the magazine: ‘For a lot of people it’s a massive deal to be on the front row at Fashion Week and look perfect.

She continued: ‘I don’t go to be seen, I go to look at the collections, and support my friends, like Henry, Giles and Jonathan Saunders.

‘As much as I love clothes and shopping, it doesn’t drive me.’

The blonde beauty revealed that her focus has always been family based as she claimed: ‘No one can complain about earning good money, but for me it’s being able to help my family out, put my brother and sister through school, take my family on holiday.

‘That’s where I get the biggest buzz, not buying a pair of £500 shoes.’

The model dazzles in the glamorous shots as she dons sequinned dresses and flaunts her figure in a sheer lace bodysuit teamed with sheer black skirt.

And Wednesday night saw the style star make a power statement on the red carpet as she proved how well a female can rock a tuxedo.

Abbey Clancygave the traditionally androgynous tailored two-piece a feminine overhaul when she showed off her womanly figure at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards 2014.

Abbey picked up the Ultimate Style Icon award and said: 'I feel a bit silly collecting this in the company of such amazing women tonight. I never thought I would be called a style icon.'

Abbey - who awarded the gong on the night by Baileys - looked long-legged in a trouser suit, showing off her model physique in all black with just a touch of gold to set it off.

The blonde bombshell swept her hair into a sleek style with a strong parting but kept her beauty look natural with a simple but effective nude lip.
