The 31-year-old country music singer, who announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Mike Fisher earlier this month, appeared on the "Today" show Friday, Sept. 26, and apparently her pregnancy has not fully soaked in for her yet.

"It's still kind of weird, to be honest," she admitted on the NBC morning show. "Sometimes I'll be with my husband and I'm like, 'I'm going to be a mom. You're going to be a dad. Like, is this real life?'" "But we're really excited," the "Blown Away" hitmaker clarified. When asked what kind of parent she wants to be to her baby boy or girl, Underwood mused, "I have a wonderful mother, so if I can be even a little bit like that, we'll be good." Underwood took to Twitter on Sept. 1 to share the big news with her 3.92 million followers.

"In honor of 'Labor' Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier...," the Muskogee, Oklahoma-born singer tweeted along with an adorable photograph of herself cuddling her two pooches, who are wearing "I'm going to be a big sister" and "I'm going to be a big sister" shirts. Fisher, 34, a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is a member of the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League, previously gave a hint at what would be their baby's name. They couldn't be happier to be starting a family," a source told Us Weekly, Underwood and Fisher reportedly began dating each other after they met at one of the singer's concerts in late 2008, and then got engaged in December 2009. They tied the knot in 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia, with more than 250 people in attendance, according to People. Meanwhile, during her appearance on the "Today" show, Underwood also announced that she is releasing a single from her upcoming greatest hits album Monday, Sept. 29. Underwood played a sneak peek for Hoda Kotb and said, "The song is called 'Something in the Water' and it's going to be a single off my greatest hits album, which will come out Dec. 9," according to E! News. "

It's really kind of a joyous, uplifting song about changing your life for the better and kind of having that 'a-ha' moment, to waking up and your life being different from that moment forward," she said of her new single.
