The 48-year-old actress looked stunning a figure-hugging floral red and black dress, which emphasised her tiny waist and showcased her curvy derriere. 

With her long brown hair loose around her shoulders, killer heels to add to her diminutive frame and some added bling in the form of her wedding and engagement rings, Salma looked every inch the Hollywood star. 

Hayek, who is married to François-Henri Pinault, the father of her daughter Valentina, was all business, cracking smiles and waving to the crowd as she launched a charm offensive while promoting the new flick. 

And she certainly looked sensational in the AW15 red rose silk jacquard pencil dress by Alexander McQueen.

The movie is an English-language, special effects-driven fantasy. 

It stars Salma as  as a childless queen who is willing to do anything to conceive, along with Vincent Cassel, Toby Jones and John C. Reilly as three troubled kings. 

Loosely adapted from 17th century fairy tales, it promises the sight of Salma eating the heart of a beast. 

The flick has been directed by Italy's Matteo Garrone and was well received when it was screened at Cannes on Wednesday. 

While Salma is keeping busy with work right now, she has previously admitted she became 'frustrated' with acting.

The actress confessed she nearly gave up on the movie industry because none of the roles she was offered after starring in Frida Kahlo biopic Frida in 2002 were the kind of things she wanted so she almost turned her back on her career to raise her daughter.

The brunette beauty - who has seven-year-old Valentina Paloma with her husband François-Henri - said: 'I was very frustrated in my early forties because after Frida I was disappointed that I wasn't getting good roles; when I had my baby I thought that this was my new life and so why should I keep being unhappy in my career.

'Acting had become more like a hobby rather than something I was driven to do.'

However, Salma is pleased she has started to find herself playing more 'fun and interesting' characters.

She told Total Film magazine: 'It's very exciting. There's so much action that you don't know what to expect from one moment to the next.

'I'm glad that I'm doing projects that I find fun and interesting.'

Salma recently turned to directing, premiering her animated film The Prophet at the Toronto International Film Festival, which is based on Kahlil Gibran's poetry book of the same name.

The film focuses on religion, spirituality and love, three themes which the screen beauty is particularly passionate about.
