The Shameless actress proved dressing between seasons was not so difficult after opting for an all-black ensemble for the London premiere of The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby.

The 44-year-old made the most of her trim shape in the figure-hugging dress as she supported her man - who stars as Conor Ludlow in the movie.

With her blonde tresses tied back in a relaxed up 'do, the former Virgin Queen star let her outfit - complete with subtle Baroque-style print - do the talking.

The knee-length number came complete with thick straps and plunging neckline, and was worn with classic round-toed heels.

Meanwhile James, 35, was coordinated with his wife of eight years in a black two-piece suit and patterned tie.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her/Him is part of a trilogy that tells the story of a couple trying to reclaim the life and love they once knew, first from her point of view and then from his perspective.

The third movie combines the two stories into one, and also stars Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Jess Weixler and Bill Hader.

Also in attendance on the night was director Ned Benson, 37, who looked dapper in a dark grey suit and black tie.

Speaking about her role, Jessica said recently: 'I have to create [my character's story] and make it as real as possible in my head … maybe even write it out as a journal.

'Most of the time a lot of it is secret; I create a lot of secrets for my character that even the director doesn't know, things she wouldn't tell anyone, but I think that's how you make something feel real,' Gold Derby reported.

James and Anne-Marie, who married in a small ceremony in October 2006 after meeting on Channel 4's Shameless, have one son together, Brendan, four.
