Why is Facebook Search Marketing Being Grossly Overlooked?

When the term "web search" pops up, people think of Google. It is the defacto answer. Google earns tens of thousands of searches every second. They have essentially created the current understanding of search engine optimization. Yahoo and Geocities can not take responsibility for even if they beat Google by half a decade.
The same people who claim that they are
the only viable option for search engine marketing are being hypocritical and missing a greater point. Here is a fantastic question for them. How is SEO done in Google? Most agree that it is through long-tail keywords. It is the keywords which are less competitive and more specific. The keywords are searched less often, but there is still an audience there.

The same logic applies in the long tail of search engines. At the head of the snake is Google. It is closely followed by Yahoo, Bing, AskJeeves, etc. All of these resources are viable for SEO marketing , but Google is the clear winner. It is the same logic that these same marketers are using to market their business.
Somewhere along this chain is Facebook. Facebook search marketing is being grossly overlooked, and it is actually quite odd to see why. Facebook targets the location of the user just as Google does. It also does not list results by their star rating. Prioritizing high-ranking places is a Google feature, which decreases accessibility for new businesses.
Why is Avoiding Facebook Searches a Costly Mistake?
Capturing high-quality keywords in Google takes time and money. Just like anything, the difficult things are challenging. But, they are not always worth fighting for. Facebook has built a foundation for searching on their platform. Australian based SEO consultant asks, why is this not being used? Facebook is a prime opportunity to explore a new avenue in search marketing. Facebook has made huge ground in their search efforts, and marketers are finally starting to take note. It is an untapped world still waiting to be figured out.
