The Advantages and Usages of Multi-Spindle Boring Machine
publié le 18/08/2021 à 04:41 |
In the wood-working industry multi-spindle boring machines are frequently used for drilling several holes into a wooden board quickly. These machines are efficient because they greatly reduce the operational time and thereby increasing the overall production speed of the production process. These types of machines can be used in a variety of operations such as wood lathing, milling and routing, joinery and routing, planing and also in building furniture.
There are basically two categories of these types of machines. The first type is known as the multi-spindle boring machine and it consists of two or more spindles that run parallel to each other and are driven by a motor. The spindles are made of wood, plastic, metal or fiberglass. The working area of this type of machine is enclosed with a large housing where the holes are drilled. In order to prevent the inside of the enclosure from getting dusty, it is often constructed with plastic lenses or with a layer of plastic sheeting. A retractable plate in front of the spindle holds a bed of either sand or fiberglass in the spindle of the machine and it also contains a hoist.
The second category of these machines is known as single-spindle boring machines and it consists of a single spindle that is placed in a horizontal position and is driven by a counter-rotating crank. Unlike the multi-spindle boring machine, the single-spindle boring machines have fewer spindles. They are also known by different names such as horizontal jig, vertical jig, rotary vane and cutter. They are mostly used for boring holes in soft metals such as aluminum and brass. These spindles are made from either steel or aluminum and they have to be precisely installed to ensure that they don't overheat and that their center lines don't get misaligned.
The third category is the rotary vane horizontal boring system. This type of drilling machines has a fixed horizontal boring, which is driven by a rotating screw that is fitted with a quick change kit. The quick change kit can either be bought separately or it can be included in the drilling machine when it is purchased. The rotary vane has a set of spindles that rotate on two vertically positioned arms. These arms can rotate either clockwise or counter-clockwise. As the name indicates, the vane gets its power from a screw that is fixed to the armature.
The last category of machines is known as the multi-spindle drilling system and they are used in applications where there is a need to bore a hole very fast. The drilling operation can be done quickly using a single-speed or double-speed chuck. To ensure maximum safety, the multi-spindle boring machine is equipped with a quick-changechange adapter. This type of adapter serves the purpose of providing an alternate setting for the drill bit so that it can be switched in the case of a clog.
Cam locks are another feature that makes the SANDAR Multi-Spindle Boring Machines more convenient than any other types. Cam locks can either be manual or automatic. Manual cam locks have an option to lock the cam into a closed position. For an automatic cam lock, the operator needs to open the flange first and manually lock the cam in place. A quick change cam lock adapter allows users to switch between manual and automatic lock settings.
