Degol : How to Select Drawer Glides ?
Check your drawer opening. If the inside jambs or the sides of the cabinet are flush with the face frame opening on the sides, you need side-mount glides. If there is a lip on the sides or there is no jamb or side at all, you need bottom-mount glides. If there are existing glides on the cabinet, and they are mounted flat to the sides of the cabinet on both sides, they are side-mount. If the glides are suspended across the length of the cabinet and do not touch the cabinet anywhere but on the front and back, they are bottom-mount.
Measure the drawer. Place the tape measure behind the drawer front and measure to the back of the drawer. You will only be measuring the box of the drawer. For example, if the box measures 18 inches, you will need to purchase 18-inch glides. If the drawer has existing glides, take them off and measure them by removing the screws with a screwdriver. This will also give you the correct length.
Look through the drawer opening if you do not have a drawer. Check for a horizontal board at the back. If you see a board in the back, insert a tape measure into the drawer opening. Measure from the back of the board to the front edge of the face frame in front. For example, if the measurement is 22 inches, purchase 22-inch glides.
Measure to the back of the cabinet if there is no board at the back. This means that the glide will attach to a bracket that screws to the back of the cabinet. Measure from the back of the cabinet, to the back edge of the face frame in front. Use the same example for glide selection as in Step 3.
