How many materials can a fiber laser machine engrave?
Many of our customers ask us about machine life, productivity, consumables, and how much material the fibers can mark or engrave on. Many of them already know that UV lasers can engrave almost any material, but at the same time they also know that UV lasers are a technology that is three times more expensive than fiber laser technology. Also, UV laser technology works slower when you want to engrave metal. For this reason, many customers want to engrave their products with a fiber laser machine, which can mark at higher speeds than UV and with higher depths on a wide variety of materials.
Use a laser marker for dark engraving on stainless steel.

Also known as a blue laser beam, this technology has the ability to engrave with low heat. The machine's light wave, or ultraviolet spectrum, is one of the main reasons the technology can engrave on different materials because it doesn't heat the surface of the material like fiber optics and carbon dioxide do. It allows UV lasers to make clear and high-precision markings on all plastics and other materials that react poorly to heat.
There are thousands of different plastic combinations, all of which can be engraved with UV laser technology, these are the most common plastic engravings for our laser engravers.
UV lasers can engrave and mark metals, but don't always have the same effect as fiber laser engravers. While fiber lasers can etch deeply and produce crisp results on metal surfaces, UV lasers have problems engraving painted metals or highly reflective metals like copper. Ultraviolet laser is a full-intersection technique that is ideal for engraving plastics and some common metals as a whole. However, one of the significant advantages of this machine was that some non-metallic materials such as wood could be engraved at the time. This machine can do amazing carvings on different wood surfaces. It cannot etch as deep and fast as a CO2 galvo laser, but it produces bright and beautiful markings.
UV lasers are one of the techniques that can engrave on glass surfaces without cracking or overheating the material. You can create stunning engravings and patterns without shards of glass.
