The Valley Today Crew teamed up with the West Acres Mall to get a first hand look at this years fashion trends.

Color's, prints and key pieces that are sure to turn heads this spring.

Style expert Niki Larson from the West Acres Mall says there's plenty of ways to spice up your style this year. Here's some trends she says to look for.

Colors many are turning to are sorbets and neutrals. Sassy sorbet shades can be anything from coral, to aqua to bright sunshine yellow. These hues will make anyone bright and bold this season.

For neutrals many are following the 'White Hot' look. This is the staple head-to-toe hue for the season. Many people will be seen matching their all white with a few pops of earth tones like marsala (maroons) and army greens.

Looking for the seasons patterns? Gingham, florals, palms and lace are this years styles.

Gingham can be on anything from blazers to trousers. Niki says this picnic-inspired print is popping up in head-to-toe spring apparel.

Florals are booming just like spring flowers! Look for anything from tiny blossoms to large blooms, especially in dresses.

Palms are a new print coming out this season. From palms to pineapples, there's a wide range of tropical influence in anything from blouses to soft shorts.

Lace is again making an appearance this spring. Most will be seen in dresses. Lace is a way to create the romantic and classic styles you'll see in stores this spring.

Athleisure is mixing sporty apparel with feminine items and will be a popular look for the fashionista-on-the-go this spring. Whether you pair a jogger with a strappy heel, or fit-and-flare dress with a sneaker, Niki says mixing up both cute and comfy is the new trend.

The 70's are also making a comeback! From flared denim to festival print tops, a 70's influence will be very apparent in spring staples.

Feel like sailing away? The classic navy, red and white stripes that come along with the nautical look are again in style. Nautical accents and graphics have again sailed into the trending spring apparel. Military looks like utility jackets and cargo pants are among the many military-inspired items that are making their way into spring style.

Looking for some new accessories? Delicate jewelry, bold handbags and sporty foot ware are the way to go.

A must-have piece this spring includes either a floppy or baseball hat. Also as mentioned in the military look, utility jackets are in-style along with jean jackets. A comfortable t-shirt dress can be the perfect match for the athleisure look.

Niki says as you go out shopping this season try on a number of the styles that are in this spring. You may never know what kind of new looks will look good and make you feel great.
