Ashley Hart says there is an upside to her elimination from Dancing with the Stars - she can now start planning her wedding.

The model became the first celebrity kicked off the Seven show on Tuesday despite mastering the famous Dirty Dancing lift - albeit on the third attempt.

While she is disappointed her journey on the reality series did not last longer, Hart is excited she can finally delve into organising her big day with fiance Buck Palmer after he proposed with his grandmother's engagement ring in the south of France in July.

"We are definitely enjoying the bubble and we haven't really been able to put any energy into planning the wedding," Hart told AAA yesterday.

"But falling asleep last night at 2am (after the elimination), I rolled over and said 'We can actually start planning the wedding'.

"I already have a bridal magazine with me now while I am eating brekkie."

The 25-year-old is also not holding any grudges against her fiance after her face was left covered in bruises in a practice lift gone wrong at the weekend.

"(Professional partner) Julz Tocker and I were practising lifts in the park and we couldn't get the final lift," Hart said.

"We just weren't mastering it and I said to my fiance 'Let's try it so Julz can have a look at it from another perspective'.

"I literally almost snapped my neck. Thank God we were on grass because it could have done some serious damage."

Hart, who is the sister of Victoria's Secret Angel Jessica Hart, said being on the show had "opened up a whole new can of worms" and she wanted to continue dancing for fun and fitness.

She added guests at her wedding could expect to see her new moves during her and Palmer's first dance.

"The one thing my mum was disappointed about was just that I didn't get to do a waltz on the show," Hart laughed. "I am promising her I will do a beautiful wedding waltz on the day."
