Somewhere over the rainbow/what a wonderfull world - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Israel Kamakawiwo`ole (20 mai 1959, décédé le 26 juin 1997, à 38 ans... des suites d'une maladie
respiratoire due à son obésité) dit Bruddah Iz ou
IZ, fut le musicien et chanteur hawaiien le plus connu dans les années 1990. Il
dut sa renommée internationale à son medley, Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful
World dans l'album Facing Future (1993). Cette chanson fut fort diffusée sur les
ondes françaises à la fin du XXe siècle, et apparaît dans le générique de fin de
nombreux films et séries (cold case, urgences..) Elle fut initialement interprètée par Judy GARLAND et reprise ^par de nombreuses chanteuses et chanteurs. A la fin du clip, on peut voir la cérémonie de
la dispersion de ses cendres par sa femme dans l'océan à Makua Beach, à Hawaii.
