Gantt-Shafer Wedding Jessica Leigh Gantt and Jye Scott Shafer were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at five o' clock in the afternoon at the All Faiths Chapel on the campus of Texas A&M University. The nuptials were officiated by Reverend Ted Foote. Ceremony readings were given by Ms. Libby Wicklund and Ms. Mary Beth Schaefer. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a dinner and dance at The Brazos Cotton Exchange in downtown Bryan. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Downtown 202 in the Old Bryan Marketplace. A bridal luncheon was hosted by Mrs. Laurie Corbelli and her daughter, Rachel, in their home in College Station. The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs.

Bob Gantt of College Station. The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Scott Shafer of College Station. Grandparents include Mr. & Mrs. Myron Gantt of College Station, Mr. Eddie Majewski of Wichita Falls, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Shafer of College Station, and Mr. & Mrs. Charles McCandless of College Station. The couple was also blessed by the love of the late Mary Frances Majewski, Jane Majewski, and Joyce McCandless. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride, was escorted to the altar by her father to the strains of Prelude in C played by Mrs. Condy Carter, pianist. Other musical selections were provided by Seth Marcus of Denver, Colorado, friend of the groom. The bride's gown by J Crew was of silk charmeuse and featured a fitted front with chevron seaming around the waist which gracefully formed a V-shaped dip in back that flowed into the slightest of sweep trains. She carried a bouquet of assorted white flowers, baby's breath, and greenery that included her great-grandmother's handkerchief that she carried at her own wedding 80 years ago.

Matron of Honor was Mrs. Katherine Gantt, sister-in-law of the bride, and Ms. Michelle Kim, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Ms. Ali Boyd, Ms. Laura Cooley, Ms. Rachel Corbelli, Ms. Elle Hawthorne, all friends of the bride, and Ms. Hallie Shafer, the groom's sister. They wore sage green dresses and carried bouquets hand-tied with twine. Ms. Kimberly Williams, Ms. Libby Wicklund and Ms. Mary Beth Schaefer served in the house party. Serving the groom as his Best Men were Mr. Andrew Chin and Mr. Josh Jeter, his childhood friends. Groomsmen were Mr. Josh Gantt, brother of the bride, Mr. Jeremy Gold, friend of the groom, and Mr. Matt Newton, Mr. Blake Pankonien and Mr. Tyler Pankonien, cousins of the groom. Ushers were brothers of the bride, Mr. Jordan Gantt and Mr. Daniel Kim, and Mr. Seth Marcus, friend of the groom. Jessica Gantt graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 2009, and went on to receive her Bachelors of Arts in Communication and Spanish from Texas A&M University in 2012. She then received her Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Colorado State University in 2014.

Jye Shafer graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 2005, and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Clemson University in 2008. He then received his Master of Public Service and Administration from The Bush School of Government and Public Service in 2013. After a New Year's honeymoon in San Francisco, the couple will reside in College Station. The bride will continue work on her doctorate degree and the groom will continue his work as an academic advisor to international students.
